Job Description:

This position is responsible for directing, developing and overseeing the Parts and Service departments at the
branch level to ensure the attainment of the company growth and profitability objectives are met.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: May include some or all of the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Manages, monitors and improves the branch Parts and Service departments to meet the branch objectives
  • Plans, coordinates, schedules and controls shop and parts activities to achieve budgeted sales and margin objectives.
  • Assists in ensuring the maintenance of Product Support equipment, vehicles and branch are kept in good repair and ensuring they are clean and in good order and recommend changes, which may be available to meet operational and quality requirements.
  • Maintains labor, maintenance, and repair costs are as low as possible while maintaining quality and meeting demand requirements at the branch level.
  • Ensures training is provided for all subordinate personnel, as necessary, for proper performance of their responsibilities at the branch level.
  • Manages and oversees the "All Makes" business segment growth initiative and support the expansion to other regions in an efficient and profitable manner at the branch level.
  • Works with branch Service Managers and Parts Managers in solving parts and service related questions and issues.
  • Participates in regular functional organization meetings to review branch goals, progress and solve problems.
  • Ensures that equipment, tool and parts inventory control is performed and that it supports the sales and service requirements of the branch.
  • Coordinates the parts flow requirements with Inventory Control Manager at the branch level to maintain an inventory adequate for efficient operation and good customer service.
  • Ensures all products, tools, equipment and company vehicles are secured in a manner to prevent damage and loss.
  • Ensures the branch's personnel operate in compliance with approved environmental policies, laws and standards.

Education:

College degree required along with at least 5 years of progressively more responsible experience in the Product Support area within the construction/forestry industry. Management, organization and communication skills must be highly developed. Computer skills need to be broad based.

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
