Forum Communications Company is hiring a full-time Corporate Controller who will be responsible for coordinating and managing the accounting procedures and process for the company. In addition, this position will work with all Business Managers/Controllers to prepare and implement policies and procedures relating to finance and accounting while ensuring accounting principles and practices are followed.

Additional responsibilities include:
  • Responsible for the development of policies, procedures and systems of financial importance.
  • Ensures compliance with the financial procedures of the company.
  • Advises Business Managers/Controllers on matters of fiscal importance for the organization.
  • Coordinates year end financial review between outside CPA firm and Business Managers/Controllers. Coordinates 401(k) Plan and worker's compensation audits.
  • Prepares and submits financial reports as required. Reports may require auditing and review before submission.
  • Work with Business Managers/Controllers on monthly revenues, expenses, and monthly accounting transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal and regulatory regulations; inc. tax filings and payments.
  • Maintain general ledger account setup and consolidated financial reporting setup for the company.
  • Supervise accounting department staff.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned to include back up for COO and Director of Finance and other accounting/finance functions as required.


Position Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting.
  • Five or more years of accounting/finance experience.
  • Three years management experience.
  • CPA preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of accounting/finance principles, practices, regulations and laws.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills to include proficiency in spreadsheets and accounting software. Great Plains experience a plus but not required.
  • Ability to define problems and analyze information while working under pressure.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and a driving record that is insurable by the company.
  • Must carry an acceptable level of vehicle insurance as required by the company.
