Public Health Nurse (2 Positions)

The Public Health Nurse performs professional public health nursing duties to ensure proper administration and coordination of established public health programs of Nobles County Community Services. The Public Health Nurse provides direct care needs assessment, planning, and oversight as outlined in the Minnesota Board of Nursing Nurse Practice Act and the Minnesota Public Health Nurse Practice Counsel Guidelines.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Nursing with current licensure as a Registered Nurse in Minnesota and eligibility to obtain or renew certification as a Public Health Nurse in the State of Minnesota. Driver's license required.

Examples of Duties

??? Assesses client's need and the level of service required and coordinates service providers.
??? Provides direct skilled nursing service to clients as recommended by physician.
??? Uncovers health problems through observation, interviews and analysis of records and initiates appropriate action.
??? Teaches the client basic principles of healthful living applying information from related fields such as nutrition, dental hygiene, safety, etc.
??? Teaches and supervises family members and auxiliary nursing personnel proper nursing and physical therapy care of the client as directed by physicians.
