Job Summary

Contribute to Sanford operations and processes while obtaining first hand experiences that align with the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
The intern working in the Mental Health Crisis Response Team will attend biweekly CRT meetings; short-term training of all other services provided within Sanford Behavioral Health to gain understanding of referral services and how to complete that; attend regular clinical supervision; assist with the collection and analysis of CRT data; participate in the follow up of clients utilizing crisis services; learn documentation necessary for the delivery of crisis stabilization services like crisis stabilization treatment plan, crisis stabilization progress note; complete appropriate trainings offered through behavioral health. Internship qualifications include: 21-years-old; In the process of obtaining a bachelor's degree from a "Behavioral sciences or related fields" as defined by: social work, psychology, sociology, community counseling, family social science, child development, child psychology, community mental health, addiction counseling, counseling and guidance, and special education; able to pass a background check; have a driver's license and maintain car insurance. This is a paid internship experience and student(s) that are accepted will be expected to comply with all Sanford policies and procedures. The intern must commit to the hours scheduled during the 12-week internship. Work collaboratively with organization leadership, enhancing knowledge and skills and improving the delivery of quality healthcare. Assist in the completion of projects and administrative duties while developing skills related to the assigned function and/or location. Attend training and development opportunities, learning about various processes and functions within the organization.

Department Details

Mental Health Crisis Response Team (CRT): shadow peer support and mental health practitioners on CRT, providing crisis assessment, intervention, and stabilization services. Services are provided in the outpatient, home, community, and ED setting.

Qualifications

Current enrollment or recent graduate of an Associate's or Bachelor's degree program from an accredited college or university.
Knowledge of healthcare industry preferred. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
