Job Summary

Contribute to Sanford operations and processes while obtaining first hand experiences that align with the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
This intern will be working as a team member in the Simulation Center and Center for Prehospital Care. Responsibilities will include file management, document management, data collection, statistical calculations, equipment tracking and resource and asset scheduling. The intern will work independently on assignments with oversight by mentors within the department.
Each immersive course activity that we complete in the Simulation Center and Center for Prehospital Care has a variety of documents and records that accompany the educational event. The intern would be tasked with scripting documents, prepping course files, evaluating course records following a class and filing departmental records and documents. The intern will have access to our scheduling software for course scheduling, asset tracking and equipment inventory. The intern would participate in department and enterprise meetings for simulation. The intern will assist course instructors in managing student files for the EMT classes and the paramedic program.
The ideal candidate will be driven for success and self-motivated individual in working on and completing assigned tasks. The candidate should possess skills in computer use and standard Microsoft Software. The ability to develop spreadsheets and script documents in Word and Excel with some instruction is essential. The intern should have good organizational skills and be capable of offering innovative suggestions to complement their work assignments. Use of the scheduling and tracking software provides interaction with internal and external clients that requires effective communications skills. Work collaboratively with organization leadership, enhancing knowledge and skills and improving the delivery of quality healthcare. Assist in the completion of projects and administrative duties while developing skills related to the assigned function and/or location. Attend training and development opportunities, learning about various processes and functions within the organization.

Qualifications

Current enrollment or recent graduate of an Associate's or Bachelor's degree program from an accredited college or university.
Knowledge of healthcare industry preferred. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
