Job Summary

Contribute to Sanford operations and processes while obtaining first hand experiences that align with the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
The intern will be assisting and learning in the Clinic Administration - Health Services Operations area. This group is responsible for enterprise strategy, standardization and optimization in our clinical service lines. Examples of task and projects are related to Radiology, Cardiology medical imaging device performance (e.g. compiling, tracking of exam volume, service times, etc.), appropriate use criteria optimization, technology governance, project/program management understanding and status reporting.
The intern will participate in weekly Core Team meetings to participate in discussions around enterprise strategy development within our service lines. Projects consist of spreadsheet creation/updates for device statistical tracking, program/project status reports and meeting notes, assisting cost/benefit analysis development for potential strategic initiatives e.g. image exchange, point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) standards, etc.
Qualifications:
The intern must have a career interest and/or pursuing a degree in healthcare administration and/or business administration. This interest would be in acute, ambulatory and/or senior care healthcare services. Hours can be flexible. An understanding of use of tools such as Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Outlook scheduling, etc. Communication and presentation skills will be a preferred strength for intern. Work collaboratively with organization leadership, enhancing knowledge and skills and improving the delivery of quality healthcare. Assist in the completion of projects and administrative duties while developing skills related to the assigned function and/or location. Attend training and development opportunities, learning about various processes and functions within the organization.

Qualifications

Current enrollment or recent graduate of an Associate's or Bachelor's degree program from an accredited college or university.
Knowledge of healthcare industry preferred. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
