JOB SUMMARY

Work with inside and outside vendors to maintain appropriate stock of supplies, equipment and special order items in patient rooms. The position may include unit activities for admissions and discharges, to include room setup and teardown and equipment cleaning.
Ensure the availability of special order items according to daily operational needs. Maintain the physical environment of the units by ordering, stocking and checking out-dates of supplies and equipment. Assist in determining the adequacy of the quality and quantity of material resources for the service. Maintain records on material resources and purchases.
Collect and compile data related to unit activities. Work closely with the department leaders, physicians and staff to ensure availability of equipment and supplies. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accrediting bodies to ensure the proper functionality of equipment, which may require removing equipment for repair.
May, in the best interests of the employer, obtain supplies and equipment from outside vendors and other healthcare facilities needed during off hours and weekends.
Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with supply chain management, other departments and company representatives.
All other duties as assigned.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Responds to shifting priorities while maintaining progress of regularly scheduled work.;Maintains sense of commitment to success, personal achievement and satisfaction.;Report defective equipment to appropriate supervisors or staff.;Test, evaluate, and classify excess or in-use medical equipment and determine serviceability, condition, and disposition, in accordance with regulations.;Prepare products, supplies, equipment, or other items for use by adjusting, repairing or assembling them as necessary.;Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors.;Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations.;Monitors inventory for the obsolescence of equipment and expiration of supplies.;Set up equipment and prepare medical treatment rooms.;Assesses own strengths and limitations relative to assigned tasks.;Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other areas.;Identifies the adequate inventory levels required for efficiency.;Reviews and verifies data and reports for accuracy.;

DEPARTMENT DETAILS

This position is Part Time 48 hours a pay period (every 2 weeks) working rotating day and evening shifts with every 3rd-4th weekend. Shifts will be 4, 6,or 8 hours.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalency required, post high school education in a related field or supply procurement experience in the healthcare field desired.
Basic PC knowledge, including Microsoft Word and Excel required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within one year of hire, and must be maintained during the length of employment.
