Responsibilities Include:
•Develop, coordinate and supervise summer and youth programming activities designed for community outreach and engagement.
•Complete all duties associated with College for Kids & Teens program
•Lead an advisory board to inform K-12 programmatic decisions.
•Create content for and maintain electronic presence for youth and summer programming, including website and social media.
•Develop additional programming aimed at reaching out to diverse community members.
•Develop additional youth and summer programming for high achieving students.
•Investigate potential partnerships for summer programming (i.e. SCRUBS camp, MSCTC, Inspire Innovation Lab, etc.)
•Provide opportunities for MSUM students to be involved in helping deliver youth and summer programming.
•Collaborate with university departments and external constituents to heighten awareness of MSUM programming.
•Collaborate with academic and student affairs to support/coordinate and expand outreach activities.
•Establish relationships with K-12 schools to expand awareness and use of MSUM programs and outreach activities.
•Develop partnerships with industry and community leaders to provide community outreach.
•Seek external sources for funding to support community outreach.
•Monitor grants budgets.
•Prepare any required reports.
•Maintain accurate records of outreach activity and prepare an annual report of these activities.
•Establish a method of assessment to monitor success and impact of programs.
Minimum Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s Degree in related field
•2 years related experience to the listed duties and experience
•2 years of experience organizing and running successful events and/or conferences
•Strong communication and interpersonal skills
•Strong supervisory skills
•Demonstrated experience in successful grant writing
•Demonstrated successful partnerships and collaborations with campus, community, and stake holders
•The position requires an extremely flexible schedule with many evening and weekend hours and extended days during active program times.
•Ability to lift 50 lbs and have a valid driver’s license and eligible to drive state vehicles.
Preferred Qualifications:
•Master’s Degree in related field
•Teaching and/or coaching experience
Additional Requirements:
In accordance with the Minnesota State Colleges & Universities Vehicle Fleet Safety Program, employees driving on college/university business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be required to conform to MinnState’s vehicle use criteria and consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check.
