Senior Mechanical Designer
We are currently seeking a full-time, Senior Mechanical Designer. Duties and responsibilities:Create detail drawings from main assembly drawingsCreate flat layouts for waterjet cuttingCreate and revise main and detailed drawingsCreate and revise technical routing and information sheetsCreate and revise bills of materialsWork with sales and manufacturing staff to discuss project specifications and proceduresCoordinate and direct projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activitiesDirect engineering department on current and future work loadPerform ASME and API calculations using CodewareContinuously train engineering department to design stainless steel process equipment to the best manufacturing practicesAnalyze technology and resource needs to plan and assess the feasibility of projectsDirect, review and approve product design and changesRecruit employees; assign, direct, and evaluate their work; and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competenceDevelop and implement standards and procedures for the engineering and technical work performed in the departmentPerform administrative functions such as reviewing and writing reports, approving expenditures, enforcing rules, and making decisions about the purchase of materials or servicesReview and recommend or approve contracts and cost estimatesPresent and explain proposals, reports, and findings to clientsConsult or negotiation with clients to prepare project specifications
Requirements and qualifications:7-10 years of experience in stainless steel tank design7-10 years of RECENT experience using AutoCADExcellent skills/knowledge of AutoCADProficient Microsoft Office skills: Outlook, Word, ExcelExcellent work ethicExperience in Solid Works/InventorAbility to give direction to others as well as work independentlyAbility to multitask
Education Requirements:Associate or Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or work equivalent
