JOB SUMMARY

Certified Nursing Assistant

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Adheres to legal regulations and organizational policies when discussing patient health information. Assists with daily living of numerous patients with a wide variety of health conditions. Collects medical specimens with strict adherence to established procedures and test requisitions. Documents the critical elements within a patient chart to help others. Ensures that all equipment or related supplies are in proper working order prior to use. Evaluates patients progress and communicates with multidisciplinary team members. Maintains a high standard in relation to infection control mechanisms for patient safety. Operates and maintains medical equipment based on specific policies. Performs routine cleaning and disinfecting tasks in certain areas of a healthcare organization. Responsible for promoting a safe environment for patients, families, staff, residents, and visitors and working collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary heath care team to provide the best outcome for patients.

DEPARTMENT DETAILS

Day, evening, and night shifts are available in full-time, part-time, and casual (as needed) positions.

QUALIFICATIONS

In Minnesota a Certfed Nursing Assistant must be certfed and registered with the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry. Must have good human relatons and communicaton skills. Must be able to follow oral and writen instructons. Food service experience preferred, but not required. Must be able to follow procedures and instructons given. Must be able to acquire a basic knowledge of resident care principles, medical terminology and equipment within the assigned service area. Must possess a desire to work with residents in post-acute care and long term care.
