Directs the overall operations of a cardiology department; develops and monitors cardiology services in compliance with organizational policies, regulations, and standards. Designs, develops, and oversees the cardiac services of a cardiology department, following relevant policies and guidelines. Manages cardiology departmental personnel and evaluates the performance of practitioners in providing cardiology services. Possesses a working knowledge of clinical practices, strategic planning, administrative, and financial principles. Possesses excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Develops and supervises the processes, procedures, and best practices of cardiology services to ensure effective and efficient patient care. Monitors the safety of cardiology service activities and creates a safe environment for patients, staff, and the public.
Ensures organizational budgeting practices meet regulatory requirements.;Leads in the development and implementation of cross-functional standards and policies.;Builds the strategic thinking capability of the group.;Direct or conduct recruitment, hiring, and training of personnel.;Direct, supervise and evaluate work activities of medical, nursing, technical, clerical, service, maintenance, and other personnel.;Establish work schedules and assignments for staff, according workload, space and equipment availability.;Coordinates and controls cardiology department operations to improve service effectiveness.;Coordinates cardiology department quality assurance using diverse methodologies.;Establishes policies, regulations and protocols for a cardiology department.;Coordinates the procurement and management of a variety of materials, equipment and supplies.;Supports methods for institutionalizing the highest ethical standards and work practices.;Communicates effectively with diverse audiences, using appropriate media and language.;Develops cost-effective inventory and equipment management systems.;
Bachelorâ€™s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Nursing, a healthcare related field is required. Masterâ€™s in Leadership or completion within three years of accepting position is required.
Minimum of five years of leadership and/or management experience is required. Experience in cardiology is strongly preferred.
Maintenance of any certification/licensure as required by profession in state(s) of practice and/or possess multistate licensure privileges as necessary by position is required.
