The purpose of this position is to coordinate biweekly factory payroll activities to ensure accurate wage payments to employees and to correctly distribute labor and benefit costs in compliance with the collective bargaining agreement and company policy. Strict adherence to all internal control policies and procedures is required.

The principal accountabilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Audit employee profile information received from the HR Generalist for new/rehired and terminated factory employees to ensure required information is accurate and properly authorized.
  • Process employee changes such as address, W-4 information, direct deposit bank information, court ordered deductions and other miscellaneous deductions.
  • Process and verify the accuracy of period and prior pay period adjustments. Any corrections to pay require proper authorization by supervisor.
  • Auditing of Workday's time integration by the Factory Payroll Coordinator includes review of the data to ensure accuracy of time worked and cost centers charged and consistency with company policies regarding all wage payments to employees.
    • This includes review of each employee's time records in Workday by balancing and reconciling various reports and also online review of data for irregularities.
    • The auditing procedures for factories working 12 hour shifts are somewhat different than those working 8 hour shifts, but overall the Factory Payroll Coordinator is responsible for accurate reporting and paying of time.
  • Provide day to day training and explanation to supervisors who are reviewing time and attendance in Workday. Answer questions and follow up with supervisors.
  • Respond to supervisor and/or employee questions regarding paychecks.
  • Provide wage information to county social service agencies for child supports. Process and deduct court ordered amounts as received and process the vendor payments in a timely manner.
  • Provide and audit return of factory state reciprocity forms.
  • Complete factory employment verifications for financial institutions.
  • Other duties as may be assigned.


Minimum Requirements

  • Basic accounting knowledge and experience of payroll functions and computer systems normally gained through the completion of a two year accounting or business related degree

OR
  • Aminimum of three years related payroll work experience.

PLUS
  • Experience with Microsoft applications such as word and excel are also required.
  • Previous experience with Workday or other computerized payroll and an automated time collection system is highly desirable.
  • This position requires a high degree of accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • The ability to meet established deadlines
  • Communicate effectively with management and employees while maintaining confidentiality.
