Job Description

A machinist is responsible for completing the following duties:
  • Create quality parts produced on CNC machines, manual lathes, and boring mills as per design specifications
  • Load parts, operate controls, set offsets, simple edits, debur and inspection of parts
  • Interpret drawings, manuals, and part specification to ensure correct dimensions and tolerances, sequence of operations and setup
  • Detect and correct equipment malfunctions or out of tolerance machining to ensure quality production
  • Operate a forklift and overhead crane as required per task
  • Communicate verbally and in writing to supervisor, engineers, quality control and safety staff for quality and machining issues
  • Maintain compliance with 5S program within scope of position
  • Setup, operate, and maintain a number of CNC machine tools, performing repetitive and non-repetitive machining operations such as sawing, turning, milling, boring, planning, and precision drilling
  • Adapt to a changing work environment, complete demands, and be able to work through frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • 3 - 5 years of recent machine shop experience
  • Computer literacy
  • Able to communicate well and excel in a team environment
