Maintenance Mechanic - 2nd or 3rd Shift

Intek Plastics, a premier plastic extrusion company is seeking an experienced maintenance mechanic to perform maintenance and preventative maintenance tasks/repairs. Experience in electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, water treatment systems, and general facility repairs required.

Primary Responsibilities
- Support production needs
- Equipment troubleshooting and repairs (DIN's)
- Electrical / Electronic / Drives
- Mechanical / Power Transmission
- Equipment PM's
- Identifying and communicating problems / opportunities
- Forklift repairs and PM's
- Support facilities needs
- HVAC
- Plumbing
- Structural & Grounds
- Chilled water system
- Compressed air maintenance and operation
- Janitorial
- Repair or replaces existing electrical systems (provided there is a Maintenance Electrician (or greater) on staff)
- Track and record daily activities and part usage
- Perform 6S and TPM activities as required
- Follows all safety policies and procedures

Primary Tools & Equipment
- Various tools; powered and non-powered, hand tools,
- Diagnostic equipment: various meters and testing devices,
- Common machine shop equipment: drill press, welding, etc.
- Computer and associated maintenance system software
- Equipment manuals, schematics, blueprints
- Fork trucks, Man lift, Ladders
- Various chemicals (water system, cleaning, lubricants, etc.)

Minimum Qualifications(knowledge, skills, & abilities)
To qualify for Maintenance "A" an individual must have, subject to company waiver, vocational school education or equivalent in six courses in five of the following areas:
o Electronics
o Machine Shop (Advanced)
o Hydraulics
o Water Treatment Systems
o Pneumatics
o Sheet Metal
o Welding (Arc, Gas, Tig)
o Power Transmission
o Electricity
o PLC Function
o Drafting, Layout, or CAD
o AC/DC Drives

Or equivalent prior maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment (target 5+ years)
Additional skills and physical requirements:
- Effective reading, writing, and verbal communication
- PC proficiency
- Mechanical and electrical aptitude
- Read and understand schematics and blueprints
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 60 lbs
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, twist, carry tools or materials over the course of a 12 hour shift if OT is required
