Location Coordinator

This position is responsible for the overall functioning of an apartment/home serving adults with intellectual disabilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for activities of daily living including: household activities; medical and health issues; financial management; home and vehicle maintenance; and leisure pursuits.
  • Responsible for staff supervision, training, coaching, and supporting a team-oriented work environment.

Education

  • Must be at least 18 years of age and have high school diploma or general education degree. Supervisory experience in related field preferred.

Job Requirements

  • Assist individuals with personal cares (bathing, toileting, feeding)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Physically capable and willing to perform household tasks
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record
  • Clearance of a criminal background check
  • Experience working with people with intellectual disabilities
  • Commitment to advocating for persons served by HMC

Schedule

  • Full-time with combination of flex/administrative time and direct care

Direct care shifts are to be determined.

  • Occasional weekends may be required depending on location
  • Ability to be flexible with hours to fill in open shifts with the schedule
  • All positions require some fill-in and holidays

Specific Responsibilities

  • Support the Mission, Values and Vision of the Harry Meyering Center.
  • Demonstrate responsible work habits.
  • Provide supervision to designated staff.
  • Responsible for financial management of the home.
  • Support team oriented work environments.
  • Supervise and assist individuals with routine activities of daily living.
  • Document and communicate information for programming.
  • Initiate leisure opportunities and encourages participation.
  • Interact with individuals in a genuine and respectful manner.
  • Provide feedback, encouragement and reinforcement to individuals.
  • Support and/or provides for medical needs of individuals.
  • Responsible for home and vehicle maintenance.
  • Provide safe working and living environments.
  • Pursue professional growth and development.
  • Fill unstructured shift time with relevant job-related tasks; these may include, but are not limited, to interactions with individuals, activities, cleaning, etc.
