LPN Behavioral Health - Casual

Description

Lakewood Health System's Behavioral Health Unit ("Reflections") has a great opportunity for a Casual LPN.

The Licensed Practical Nurse - Behavioral Health Unit (LPN-BHU) implements care of patients as identified in the patient medical record including administration of medications and day-by-day monitoring of Behavioral Health Staff on duty. They assess the patients' needs and correctly refer to the RN for consultation for those situations beyond their scope of practice.

The LPN-BHU correctly dispenses medications and completes all treatments as ordered, communicates written information concerning patients' needs and cares to all appropriate staff, and observes proper infection control and safety procedures.

This is a casual position, meaning that the staff member would be picking up open shifts as available and coming in when other staff are unable to work their scheduled shift. Flexibility with scheduling is strongly preferred. This position requires rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays. No prior experience necessary. We are willing to train the right individual.

Qualifications

1. Current MN LPN licensure

2. Experience in psychiatric care and geriatric care preferred

3. Excellent customer service skills

4. Ability to work in a team environment
