Position Description:
To provide for the installation, maintenance and calibration of heating plant remote monitoring devices and control systems, operator interface systems, engineering work station, process control cabinets, and general electrical/mechanical systems, and general electronic equipment and systems.
Perform the duties & responsibilities for the 24 hour operation of the Heating Plant for generation of steam to provide energy for environmental comfort usage in state, city, and federal government and campus facilities located at North Dakota State University

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associate Electronics Degree
  • Two years experience in Electronics or Process Control Field.
  • Working experience with electronic/process control, pneumatics, pressure & temperature transmitter, PRV
  • Knowledge of installation and configuration of computer hardware, peripherals, and software programs such as Windows, Office, HIMI software, etc.
  • Valid driver's license - Class D
  • Excellent verbal/written communication

Preferred Qualifications:
  • One year supervisory experience to include close and effective supervision of one ore more full time equivalent employees.

Physical Demands:
High temperature surfaces, high pressure steam, airborne particulate, asbestos containing materials, high temperature and pressure vessels, hazardous chemicals, explosive conditions, extreme temperature ranges, low humidity, high noise levels with variable frequencies, heights, moving machinery, confined spaces, high electrical voltage, work from ladders, platforms or bucket trucks.

Special Conditions:
Ability to understand and follow oral & written instructions. Will be tested and must be approved for the ability to wear a full-face respirator. The ability to interact, communicate with students, faculty, staff and co-workers. The ability to withstand long hours of standing, walking, bending, lifting, and working with hands overhead. The ability to lift 75 pounds occasionally. Knowledge of installation and configuration of computer hardware, peripherals, and software programs, such as Windows, Office, HMI Software, etc. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
