General Duties and Responsibilities
Lead client in discussion, identification and review of the directives for the project using the Performa ProcessAssist client in establishing the organizational, operational, functional and experiential requirements for the projectConduct user group workshops to identify the qualitative and quantitative requirements for the projectDevelop various conceptual frameworks for organizing the overall site and facility and review with a clientLead the conceptual, schematic and design development of assigned projectsCoordinate the design activities of all professional disciplines assigned to the project including consultantsCreate designs that represent our clients' mission, culture and brand while innovatively addressing the functional requirements withinMaintain client contact during the design process through construction document phaseCommunicate owner directives and design decisions to project teamLead the authoring of project specificationsCoordinate building code review and agency approvalsDevelop an understanding of how to effectively leverage capital initiatives through the technical fields of architecture and engineeringAbility to see and seize sales opportunities within current and potential clientsCoordinate successful transition of projects won to the Director of Operations and project managersMinimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Science (with major in Architecture) or Bachelor of ArchitectureMinimum of ten years of relevant work experienceArchitectural registration and NCARB certificationExperience in the design and construction of facilities related to corporate, commercial, manufacturing and/or higher educationSkills and Experience
Able to function effectively in a demanding environment and manage multiple prioritiesAble to create construction documents, details and the technical aspects of building projects; review construction documents or accuracy and appropriate applicationsAble to author technical specificationsExtensive knowledge of building codes, regulations and requirementsThorough knowledge of building materials and construction methods; knowledge of procedures and sequencing of construction documentsTechnical prowess to speak the client's languageStrong organizational, negotiating and interpersonal skillsAble to work with modest supervision and guidanceStrong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to apply logical steps to problem-solvingTeam player attitude; caring; demonstrates respect for othersStrong computer aptitude to include knowledge of computer-aided modeling (Revit) and Microsoft Office applicationsLearn more about Performa's culture and clients online at .
