Job Summary
As a Director of Nursing with the Good Samaritan Society, you play a crucial role in leading care for our residents. You have excellent clinical skills, are a great leader, and are able to manage multiple resident and employee needs simultaneously.

What you'll do: For residents, you'll promote a positive living experience that is created with their life goals in mind and you will work with the medical team that the resident has chosen to provide the best clinical care possible. You will audit and monitor resident care each day. You'll audit administration of medication, monitor the maintenance of health records and oversee the care plan process. You will work with the nursing staff to be clinically competent and to grow in their ability to provide quality care to the residents in your location. You'll also work with the resident's responsible party to understand daily care and medication needs. Your role may include direct patient care at times, potentially helping residents with all necessary personal care. You and the Health Information Manager in your center will be the lead support for the electronic medical record and you will oversee and monitor all clinical priorities in your center such as the safe resident handling program and the nursing budget. You will manage staff effectively to ensure appropriate employee levels, resident care and admissions. You will work as a team with all of the other departments to maintain relationships, and meet all team and staff objectives as assigned.

Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Prior work experience may not be required to be hired into this job. Supervisory experience is preferred. Registered nurse licensure for state of practice is required.
Ability to communicate and comprehend.
Knowledge of basic nursing skills; knowledge and familiarity with the therapeutic effects and side effects of all medications administered.
