Qualifications

Primary Purpose and Overall Objective of the Job:

The CEM role is key in providing education on PCT and other specified assays to acute care healthcare providers, including physicians, PA's, NP's and pharmacists within hospital accounts. While the majority of work takes place in existing accounts, presentations to prospects are also conducted in conjunction with sales. The role includes evaluating current institutional treatment guidelines, protocols and order sets. The CEM will then provide recommendations on improving these through the use of bioMerieux products and providing education on the clinical utility of specific immunoassays. Adoption of recommended treatment protocols is key to providing maximum customer value. The Clinical Education Manager has shared responsibility with the Immunoassay Specialist for achieving the territory sales goals and maintaining existing customers within a territory as defined by bioMerieux.

As part of the sales team, the Clinical Education Manager (CEM) position assists in achieving growth of targeted immunoassays in specified accounts.

Main Accountabilities:

  • Revenue/Quantity Growth of specified Immunoassay's in target accounts
  • Assists in achieving growth of targeted immunoassays in specified accounts through identification and education of health care providers.
  • Identifies, targets and prioritizes specific accounts based on data analysis and communication with sales team.
  • Develops strategy for ongoing client satisfaction, retention and testimonials.
  • Capitalize on relationship opportunities for cross selling bioM??rieux products.
  • Tracks growth/decline of specific Immunoassay's and assists in implementation of solutions to increase utilization.
  • Provide education to hospital health care providers
  • Focus areas are Emergency Medicine, Pharmacy, Critical Care, Pulmonology, Infectious Disease, Laboratory, Risk Management and Sepsis Committee.
  • Provide formal presentations as well as informal trainings.
  • Facilitate intradepartmental communication to maximize patient solutions within institution.
  • Meet metrics with regard to number of presentations, sales calls and strategic meetings.
  • Meet metrics with regard to specific Immunoassay's.
  • Support development of Key Opinion Leader Network
  • Develop relationships with key regional institutions.
  • Gain acceptance through education of approved on-label use of products.
  • Foster relationships with key personnel to serve as references.
  • Promote Grand Rounds and other forms of formal education.
  • Territory Management
  • Increase adoption of utilization in existing customer base.
  • Track critical and lost accounts.
  • Assist in developing and executing retention plan at critical accounts.
  • Report industry and market trends.
  • Report client satisfaction and needs.
  • Track Territory Immunoassay revenue by account and implement action plans in any account whose sales may be declining.
  • Assist in field based training of Immunoassay Account Managers and Immunoassay Specialists on:
  • Clinical background and context of disease states associated with bioM??rieux product line.
  • Articulation of benefits to patient outcomes and cost.
  • Sharing best practices for gaining access to and influencing key clinical decision makers.
  • Takes on additional responsibilities outside of standard Clinical Education Manager job requirements.
  • Mentors and trains new Clinical Education Managers.
  • Assumes leadership role in piloting new marketing products or programs.
  • Suggests and implements new and advanced selling and marketing strategies.
  • Assists in coverage of open territories as assigned by National CEM Manager.
  • Exhibits leadership attributes.
  • Maintains a positive attitude and acts as a positive role model for the team.
  • Exhibits excellent communication skills with all team members.
  • Demonstrates the ability to maintain balance and prioritize responsibilities.

  • Typical Studies-Experience, Skills and Qualifications:

    Studies - Experience:

  • 4-year Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university is required.

    -Or-

  • Nursing associate degree (ADN) with accompanying RN certification from an accredited program may be acceptable along with a non-nursing bachelor degree.

    Advanced health care degree (PhD, PharmD or Public Health Degree, etc) with experience in hospital based experience may also be acceptable.

  • Nursing experience as RN in ER/ICU/CCU/Trauma is preferred.

  • Professional license preferred for Heath Care Providers (i.e. RN, PharmD, and etc.)

  • NP, APRN, PharmD or MSN preferred.

  • Teaching/Education experience preferred.

  • Sales experience a plus.
  • SKILLS:

  • Exceptional presentation skills (including PowerPoint experience).

  • Must be able to function independently.

  • Computer skills including MS Office, Excel and Outlook required.

  • Excellent Interpersonal and diplomacy skills.

  • Creative problem solving and decision making skills.

  • Project management skills.

  • Negotiation and selling skills preferred.

  • Prior experience in Industry work preferred.
