Landscape Architect ? Entry Level - Saint Paul

Required Competencies:

Knowledge of Grounds Maintenance and/or Landscaping (mowing, edging, weeding, etc.); Knowledge of landscape equipment operation and maintenance.

Preferred Competencies: The preferred applicant should possess the ability to operate heavy equipment and vehicles such as riding mowers, bobcats, backhoes, dump trucks and tractors as well as experience in operating small power equipment and vehicles such as tillers, weedeaters, blowers, push mowers, edgers, chain saws, hedge trimmers, utility vehicles and pickup trucks. Individual should have experience in inspecting fluid levels and condition of equipment prior to and following use as well as have experience in performing routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment. Preferred applicant will have the ability to supervise a crew and maintain effective work relationships.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Some knowledge of cleaning procedures, ability to follow instructions and to perform medium to heave physical work; or and equivalent combination of training and experience.

NECESSARY SPECIAL QUALIFICATION/NOTES: This position requires standing for long periods of time and performing manual labor which involves possessing physical strength to handle and lift heavy objects weighing up to 75 lbs. on a frequent basis. The work for this position is performed in an outdoor environment and in all kinds of extreme weather conditions. Employee is required to wear a State provided uniform and certain safety equipment as well as follow established safety regulations and procedures. Candidate must present proof of a valid NC Driver's License and proof of an acceptable driving record. Individual in this position must be available for emergency call back during inclement adverse weather.
