MatrixCare is looking to add a Staff Accountant to our Accounting team. The Staff Accountant is a vital part of the overall success of the Accounting team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent computer skills, especially in Excel, accounting knowledge, ability to make journal entries, perform account analysis and reconciliation, and be detail oriented.

As our Staff Accountant, you will:
  • Handle a variety of general accounting responsibilities including timely invoicing of fees per contract terms and reporting revenue per GAAP/company policies
  • Create and update recurring billing contracts in the accounting system
  • Set up and maintain billing orders and update CRM/Data tracking system in conjunction with accounting system
  • Assist with month end close including preparing GL bank & account reconciliations
  • Assist with monitoring accounts receivable and assisting the Collections Specialist with collection calls and follow-up, reconciling customer balances and making appropriate corrections where necessary, updating deferral profiles for billing and reviewing/editing transactions for accuracy
  • Assist with implementing best practices and procedures in all accounting functions and activities; maintaining good rapport with internal and external customers
  • Skills and Experience needed for the Staff Accountant position:
  • Bachelor's degree; preferably in Accounting
  • 3+ years of accounting experience showing progression of accounting responsibilities
  • Knowledge of GAAP
  • Revenue recognition
  • Software or Healthcare billing experience preferred
  • Critical and 'outside the box' thinking skills
  • Comfortable asking questions; including the desire to understand and ask "why?"
  • Ability to tactfully and directly work through detailed issues at an individual and team level
  • Ability to solicit input from needed sources
  • Sufficient reasoning ability to collect data, define problems, establish facts and draw valid conclusions (i.e., make reasonable decisions) in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills along with exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter and quick learner who is willing to accept responsibility and ownership for their function within the Company
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and workload effectively and utilize excellent time management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines.

  • Strong computer skills including MS Word, Excel and accounting software packages - (GP Dynamics or NetSuite skills preferred)
