Job Description:

Responsible, under direct supervision, for executing purchases and sales of structured product fixed income securities as authorized by portfolio managers, senior traders, and/or the Head of Trading. Project support as directed.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Structured Products investment team across a wide range of activities.
  • Responsible, under direct supervision, for executing purchases and sales of structured product fixed income securities as authorized by portfolio managers, senior traders, and/or the Head of Trading; primary focus being MBS, ABS, CMBS securities
  • Develop and maintain data base to track secondary trading levels, dealer bid/offering levels and cover bids
  • Point of contact with Street counterparties - aggregating axes, collecting and disseminating market color, and executing trades.
  • Assist with ad hoc reporting as requested by PM/traders.
  • Will interact with senior traders, research partners and other internal constituents on a regular basis.
  • Participate in morning calls, daily/weekly market updates and strategy meetings.
  • Interact as a seamless interface between the team and various internal firm constituencies.


Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree required.
  • 2+ years' experience with fixed income securities, preferably for a buy-side firm.
  • Strong problem solving skills, analytical framework and computer skills with a demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel and macro implementation. Bloomberg knowledge a plus.
  • Programming background with literacy in R and/or Python (or related languages).
  • Rigorous attention to details and good time-management/multi-tasking skills required.
  • Comfortable interacting with and taking direction from senior investment professionals.
  • Inquisitive mind interested in all aspects of the fixed income markets.
  • Self-motivated team player with strong verbal communication skills.
