Primary responsibilities include the diagnosis and repair of City of Jackson, as contracted, and County Public Works Department equipment, including off-road, over the road, and automotive equipment, and related shop operations.  Responsibilities include cutting, welding, and other related metal fabrication work, using scanning devices to diagnose computer controlled equipment.  Diagnose and repair all other electrical, hydraulic and mechanical elements of City of Jackson and County equipment. High school diploma or equivalent plus a two year vocational/technical diploma in heavy equipment repair, diesel mechanics, or related field and four years of recent experience or equivalent required. Valid MN Class C driver’s license is required. Must be able to lift and carry 75 lbs regularly.

This position is classified in Grade 12 of the County Compensation Plan with a full pay range of $20.98 - $27.27 per hour.  Starting salary DOQ, but is usually within the hiring range of $20.98 - 22.37 per hour.  Full-time position working 40 hours per week with a competitive benefits package, including PERA pension.
