Meridian Behavioral Health LLC is a leader in behavioral health care and addiction recovery services, with a network of addiction treatment centers nationwide. We are currently seeking a Cash Posting Specialist to join our team in New Brighton, MN.

Duties and responsibilities

The following duties are routine for this position.  These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive.  Other duties may be required and assigned.

  • Post insurance payments from Explanation of Benefits (EOBS) against appropriate line items and enter adjustments, patient responsibility, and MN Care tax as indicated.
  • Identification of underpayment and/or overpayment from insurance companies.
  • Noting all denied charges for collections department.
  • Advise Revenue Cycle Managers and/or Claims Analyst of denied charges, rejected claims, or any other issues that affect reimbursement.
  • Work with Auditors during the annual Financial audit.
  • Additional duties as assigned by Director and/or Managers.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in accounts receivable, preferably in a healthcare setting.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Ability

  • Knowledge in spreadsheet creations using Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience using Internet, e-mail systems, and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work independently on multiple tasks and apply time management techniques.
  • Detailed oriented, well-organized and able to work independently as well as a team player.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective and courteous working relations with all Meridian team members.

Physical Requirements

  • Close visual perception (computer workstation).
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time.
  • Able to hear and to communicate effectively (phone use).
