Job Information

This direct labor role assists with the implementation of Lean Manufacturing strategies for improving the operations within a specified factory business area. This individual will learn continuous improvement methods and tools and work collaboratively with staff and management to implement plans to optimize the performance of processes within their assigned area. The primary role of a Lean Lead is that of a change agent on the factory floor making improvements every day .
  • 1st Shift: 7am-3:30pm
  • Must be currently working in the Bismarck Factory.


Role & Responsibility

RESPONSIBILITY

  • Support assigned team in the meeting of production
  • schedules while promoting safety, quality, teamwork, lean manufacturing, and sound environmental practices.
  • Develop and implement an action plan for lean process
  • improvement
  • Lead & coach continuous improvement projects and kaizen events.
  • Ensure consistent application of Standard Work at each
  • work station through audits, coaching and training.
  • Attend daily production meetings as required.
  • Complete all necessary area communications for subsequent production shifts.
  • Maintain & update cell and team boards.
  • Identify and work to resolve area bottlenecks to ensure
  • balanced workload.
  • Work to perform root cause analysis and eliminate safety
  • and quality concerns.
  • Oversee work area maintenance and cleaning to assure
  • compliance with Lean Production Management System guidelines.
  • Perform 5S, quality, Safety and process audits.
  • Schedule and ensure maintenance of area 5S schedule.
  • Attend and report out at daily Morning Market Meetings.
  • Provide assistance, training and retraining to new, current, or reassigned employees.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.


Job Requirement

  • Education: High School Diploma/Equivalent
  • Must be able to follow established methods and procedures and perform work accordingly.
  • Must have the ability to work rapidly and under time pressure for extended periods of time in order to achieve continuous improvement goals.
  • Must possess the ability to read build sheets and blueprints.
  • The ability to communicate with supervisors and fellow workers in both written and verbal forms at a level
  • normally acquired through the completion of high school or equivalent is required.
  • Job specific skills, techniques and safe work and equipment operating practices are learned through
  • on-the-job and classroom training.
  • General instructions are given on recurring duties, operations or assignments; detailed instructions are given
  • on new duties, operations or assignments.
  • Willingness to obtain Yellow Belt certification.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent team building skills
  • Light computer skills required
