This is a school term, job level 4 ($18.28-$18.64/hour), 3.5 hours/day (8:45 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.) position. The paraprofessional will work under the direction of a special education teacher and the program supervisor. Oshki Manidoo "New Spirit" Center is a culturally specific treatment program for Native American and Non-Native American youth which embraces healthy behaviors and attitudes. The Bemidji School District partners with Oshki to meet students' educational needs while they are in this treatment program. Students attend school in the morning at the District's Alternative Education Center (802 Paul Bunyan Drive). Candidates should have experience working with children who have behavior and/or emotional problems. Because behavior paraprofessionals may need to physically restrain students on occasion, applicants must be in good physical health and willing to restrain students after receiving training.
To qualify, applicants must have two years of study at an institution of higher education (AA, AS, 60 semester credits or 90 quarter credits) or a minimum score of 460 on the ParaPro Assessment. Applicants must submit college transcripts or official ParaPro test results to the completed application to be considered for a position.
Deadline: Open Until Filled
