Job Summary:

This position develops and directs the strategies and ongoing support the Human Resources Development departments provide. The position ensures that Human Resources Development responds to the need for enhancing and maintaining the performance competencies of employees and team members and management through training and development, and responds to the need for facilitating the creation of a work environment that contributes to the effectiveness of the organization and the productivity and self-esteem of employees and team members through timely and informative communications, and the application of approved Human Resources policies, procedures, and practices.

Budget/Asset Responsibilities:

Develops the budget for all departments in the HR Development group in the Human Resources division. This includes enterprise-wide training, organizational development, the Divisional Human Resources function, and communications.


Job Duties:

  • Organizational Development. Leads the activities that optimize the interdependent functions of structure, work climate, mission and strategy, and policies and procedures to maximize the efficiencies of the organization. This includes program identification, program development, action plans, and evaluation of effectiveness.
  • Training. Ensures that two types of training are delivered effectively to the organization. The first type is the training that focuses on organization-wide initiatives and standard Human Resources training (e.g., leadership, performance management, and guest service). The second type is training that is specific to divisional operations such as on-the-job training and department-specific guest service competencies.
  • Organizational Development Communications. Develops a communication strategy to provide focused direction for organizational development initiatives. Ensures that information is disseminated in a manner that integrates with the organization's objectives and HR Development and HR Services programs.
  • Recognition Programs. Develops and administers organization-wide recognition programs to support a guest service culture and reinforce operational goals. These programs focus on immediate and visible awards for exceptional performance.
  • Divsional Human Resources (Employee Relations). Shapes and leads the positioning of the liaison function between all levels of management and HR. This role encompasses liaison b individual team members as well. This role is an integral part of operational management, bringing HR expertise to the development of all divisional initiatives, programs, policies and procedures. The HR Representatives sit in both HR and the operation area assigned.
  • Interviews, selects, hires, and develops staff members. This includes mentoring and promoting staff, conducting performance appraisals and ensuring that cohesive work relationships exist across HR Development.
