Overview

Recruits qualified applicants on campuses for employment. Places advertisements, attends job fairs, and performs other related duties. Interviews and refers candidates to the appropriate employment position/internship. Executes all Intern-related activities, both internally and externally. Stays abreast of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. A certain degree of creativity and independence is expected.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with Corporate Recruiting and business leaders to execute an effective line of campus recruiting strategies for Nelnet's internship programs.
  • Continuous development of additional intern college recruitment programs across all Nelnet locations.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Recruiting team and the business to execute on-campus strategy - campus presentations, targeted events, etc.
  • Ensure appropriate line of business participation at all campus and in-house events.
  • Plan and attend Intern Program training, events and activities where appropriate.
  • Organize and execute all Intern engagement events, including kick-offs, conclusion celebrations, Lunch-N-Learns, halfway meetings, team-building and volunteer projects.
  • Track swag inventory, event schedule and intern progression.
  • Manage the full-cycle recruiting process for early-career development programs.
  • Manage all grant funding programs that may be applicable.
  • Maintain internal and external relationships as the main liaison for all college recruiting activity.
  • If needed, carry a requisition load and assist in recruiting on internal and external positions within Nelnet.
  • Ensure that company, state, and federal policies/laws are followed in recruitment and placement procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications EDUCATION:

    College degree or commensurate experience

    EXPERIENCE:

    Minimum of 1-3 years of campus/professional recruiting experience

    COMPETENCIES - SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:
  • Excellent communication/presentation skills and being comfortable working through difficult situations
  • Aptitude to work with business leaders across the organization, as well as liaisons across various colleges
  • Ability to work effectively under critical time factors and adapt to frequently changing work assignments
  • Shows initiative and ability to exercise independent judgment
  • Flexible; team player; self-starter; self-motivated
  • Knowledge of local employment laws and statutes
  • Good negotiation and persuasion skills
