Plant Manager

Job Summary:

Bernatello's Foods is seeking a Plant Manager at our Maple Lake facility. This position is instrumental in overseeing all aspects of production, maintenance, engineering, quality, continuous improvement, safety, and other production related activities. The ideal candidate will have experience in capital planning, production planning and optimization, as well as data analysis to measure all plant specific functions. We are looking for a change agent that will execute on measurable improvements to plant performance relative to: Cost, Quality, Product and Employee Safety, Customer Service, Materials, Supply Chain, and Culture.

Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership, direction and guidance to management staff and facility personnel.
• Set clear goals, communicate, and execute against those goals.
• Assist in the develop and implementation of continuous improvement strategies focused on appropriate areas such as: training, standard work, training, safety, quality, and changes to line structure or redesign.
• Promote and drive food safety and quality programs (HACCP, SQF), and ensuring immediate actions is taken to identify and resolve food safety/defense issues.
• Work cross-functionally and collaboratively on manufacturing issues that arise.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with vendors, contractors, and other departments within Bernatello's.
• Responsible to ensure that all required documentation, record keeping, and reporting takes place as is required by law and/or regulatory agencies. For example: OSHA, USDA, FDA, DOL, SQF.
• Ensure all legal requirements, company safety procedures, and local and state health and safety regulations are met and creates a strong safety culture.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Well-rounded in operations disciplines (manufacturing, quality, maintenance, etc.)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office as well as basic experience in manufacturing software and database.
• Project Management and Continuous Improvement experience such as Six Sigma training.
• Advanced in leadership and delegation, coaching and mentoring, and team development.
