Job Description: The External Communications Manager is responsible for effectively leading mass communication programs, strategies and tactics directed to patients and the public across the Essentia Health system. The position will oversee the execution of all communication-related initiatives geared toward external audiences including media relations, brand journalism, crisis communications and social media. This includes the development of strategic communication plans that integrate external communications across the health system. With the Director of Communications, the External Communications Manager develops long-range strategies for managing reputation and develops and provides timely, accurate information to support performance goals and priorities. Assists the preparation of annual operating and expense budget for communication and manages expenses

Work Experience:
Minimum of five years of experience in a healthcare organization or consumer-orientated marketing environment.

Education Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations or a related field.
