Scheduling Specialist

Lakewood Health System has an opening for a Full-time Scheduling Specialist for Acute Care Nursing.

The Scheduling Specialist is responsible for providing scheduling services for patient care units/departments in accordance with staffing plan and to manage position control. Assists with additional staffing needs as they arise daily. Performs staffing functions in compliance with Federal Wage and Hours Laws and budgeting goals.

Essential Duties:

• Creates and maintains accurate schedules using Paycom software by following established policies and procedures.
• Manages time-off requests.
• Ensures adequate staffing while also being mindful of FTE's/overtime and equity.
• Communicates effectively with Vice President of Nursing, Department Managers and staff regarding any staffing needs or issues.
• Manages the scheduling of education for mandatory certification courses for nursing staff.
• Accurately opens and closes provider Epic templates and performs regular detailed audits.
• Works collaboratively with staff to meet staffing needs
• Completes various duties as directed by the Vice President of Nursing.

This is a Full-time position working 32-40 hours per week. Shifts will range between the hours of 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. This position does require some flexibility.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent

Previous Healthcare staffing scheduling experience preferred

Proficient in Microsoft Office

Excellent customer service skills

Excellent oral and written communication skills

High level or organizational and prioritization skills

Deals effectively with multiple interruptions in work flow

Excellent Customer Service Skills is a must
