Description

Avtec Finishing, a leader in the metal finishing industry, is looking for a qualified Plating Department Manager. Preference to someone with plating experience. Proven supervisory experience.

Job Overview

The Plating Department Manager is responsible for overall aspectual process of the production. The role of the Department manager is to provide leadership of logistics, materials, supply chain, planning, continuous improvement and manufacturing functions and to manage these tasks directly.


Basic Job Description of our Production Manager

  • Participate in formulating and administering company policies and developing short range and long-range goals and objectives.
  • Achieve financial stability through evaluation and capture of qualifying business opportunities.
  • Direct and coordinate department production, tooling needs, maintenance needs, and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Delegation of authority to, and management of, shift and departmental supervisors.
  • Responsible for the interviewing, hiring and training of operations personnel to maintain proper staffing based on sales projections.
  • Oversee and assist supervisors and HR with terminations and disciplinary action when required.
  • Advise and assist in capital expenditure projects to maintain company efficiency and profitability.
  • Coordinate with Sales and Customer Service to ensure customer satisfaction, through management of delivery, pricing, quoting, and tooling requirements. Provide technical support to customers and other company staff regarding the processes within the department.
  • Organize and direct workflow to satisfy production requirements in a cost-effective and efficient manner.
  • Responsible for researching, developing and implementing cost-effective alternatives and improvements to production processes and chemistry.
  • Maintain employee safety and morale by creating a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Maintain labor and chemical expenses to meet or exceed budgeted goals.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, logistics, chemistry or equivalent or 15 years experience in the metal finishing industry.
  • Minimum 5 Years of experience in multiple areas within the plating industry.
  • 5 years Management or Supervision experience.
  • Preferred previous metal finishing, plating, experience
  • Hazardous waste training preferred
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal); active listener
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and clearly speaking the English language
  • Outstanding customer service skills and the ability to maintain composure in stressful situations
  • Experience of establishing the objective and goals of the assigned department, enhancing the production of the business and accomplishing the targets
  • Good eye for details to keep track on all of the activities of the organization
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance record
  • Physical ability to sit, walk, stand, and climb stairs regularly



Schedule: Monday - Friday
