Minimum Hiring Salary/Position Classification: $60,000/Annual, Full Time, Benefited, Exempt
Benefits: Includes single or family health care coverage (premiums paid for by the university), basic life insurance, EAP, retirement plan, tuition waiver, annual and sick leave.  Optional benefits available: supplemental life, dental, vision, long term care insurance, flexible spending account, supplemental retirement plans. 
Work Schedule:  Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm   
Working from home or remotely is not an available option for this position.

Do you have specialized knowledge of web programming and database development?  The Center for Rural Health (CRH) at the University of North Dakota is seeking experienced and talented applicants to be considered for the position of Web Developer.  

  • The position will be responsible for development and maintenance of websites and databases.
  • Will assist with server maintenance.
  • Will participate on project teams and contribute to project planning.
  • Will maintain technical expertise and participate in professional activities.


Competencies:

  • Knowledge of database structure and SQL. 
  • Experience collaborating throughout the entire project cycle, from research, strategy, information architecture, visual design, front-end development and maintenance.
  • A solid grasp of modern front-end web development, such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript and their associated build components.
  • A solid grasp of back-end web development environments, including HTTP, web servers, databases, and associated web frameworks.
  • Familiarity with user experience principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to be self-directed.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Must generate high quality products in a timely manner.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize, multi-task, and take initiative.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in web programming, computer science, information technology, or related field, OR may substitute four years directly related education and work experience. Five years progressive and relevant work experience in programming data-driven web applications using Linus, PHP, MySQL, and Javascript.

  • Successful completion of criminal history background check.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Laravel.
  • Experience with Ubuntu Linux administration.
  • Experience with Git, Nginx, web APIs, VueJS, web accessibility, and GIS/mapping technologies.
