Position Description: Professional engineer with thorough knowledge of structural engineering and design techniques. This individual will be responsible for planning and conducting independent work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures and criteria. Qualifications/Requirements: Minimum of 5 years' experience in commercial construction, in an engineering capacity (experience in design/build preferred) Bachelor's Degree in Structural Engineering PE licensure required Comfortable designing with various construction materials: steel, concrete, wood, etc. Minimum of 3 years' experience using Revit as a drawing program (experience with Autocad a plus) Self-starter; works well autonomously & with little direction Comfortable working directly with clients Essential Functions: This list of essential functions is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time. Provide preliminary structural design for initial bidding purposes. Provide value engineering guidance during preliminary design phase. Perform structural design and analysis calculations using governing codes and standards, engineering formulas, skills and experience. Assemble engineering drawings and calculations for state submittal. Assist architectural staff to produce the most efficient structural systems and materials. Coordination with Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing engineers for structural purposes. Provide field analysis of existing structural for additional loads such as RTU's. Provide structural inspections and reports of existing structures. Review and approve shop drawings. Attend job meetings on a regular basis and provide final inspection of project at completion of construction. Why you want to work at Briohn ??? We are a small company that delivers big results.
