As Senior Sales Manager, you will work closely with the entire team to deliver exceptional guest service and strong financial results. You will participate in the hotel's sales and marketing efforts and will take on a leadership role within the property. You have charisma and a "can do" attitude that engages people to want to do business with us. You have attention to detail and are self-motivated. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Aggressively solicit new business to meet/exceed revenue goals through proactive selling, which includes researching, networking, targeted sales calls and solicitation and utilizing all sales support resources.
  • Work in coordination with other Graves Hospitality hotels to ensure effective prospecting of all key markets segments including transient and group, with a main individual focus on the corporate market.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with the catering team to maximize group revenue opportunities and ensure efficient execution of group reservations, programs and functions.
  • Maintain accurate records of potential customers and follow through on all leads.
  • Conduct Hotel tours and entertain qualified potential clients
  • Attend trade shows, community events and industry meetings to maximize the generation of hotel sales and revenues.
  • Contribute in the development of the annual sales and marketing plan/budget, reporting monthly on personal success in achieving the plan
  • Complete weekly and month end reports, accurately and on time
  • Understand the hotel's competitive set and how to sell effectively against them
  • Maintain professional relationships within the industry
  • Participate in weekly Revenue Management calls to ensure accurate positioning of hotel with in the market.
  • Respond to all RFP and proposals in a timely manner.
  • Knowledge of social media such as face book, twitter, linkedIn and how to use them as a selling tool is essential.
  • Participation in the department head meetings and contribution to the overall culture of the hotel
  • Perform other tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management.

Requirements

  • A minimum 5 years of hotel sales experience
  • IHG brand experience would be considered an asset
  • A proven track record in cultivating business relationships and strong prospecting skills
  • Strong negotiations skills and decision-making capabilities
  • Strong hospitality and customer service background
  • Possesses excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Excellent business to business skills to help foster leads
  • Proactive sales approach, assertive, fast-paced, and driven to succeed
  • Must be able to travel and may be required to work evenings and weekends as required
  • Demonstrates strong leadership, team, communication and coaching skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, Word, Excel and Power Point is essential
  • High degree of professionalism and dedication
