Cottonwood County is currently accepting applications for the position of a Full-Time Engineering Aide. This position, under general supervision, performs and assists with technical engineering work involving surveying, design, and inspection of all county roads and bridges. The Engineering Aide is responsible for assisting the Engineering and Maintenance Departments, but operates with less independence and is often in an assisting and learning mode. Duties to include, but are not limited to, performing engineering work in office; assisting in construction inspections and field surveys; conducting tests and assisting the Public Works Superintendent with various permits, inventory, and record-keeping.

Minimum requirements for this position include a high school diploma or equivalent. Two-year degree in Civil Technology or equivalent and/or two years of experience in civil engineering operations or an equivalent combination of qualifying education and experience preferred but not required. See job description for further details regarding current MnDOT certifications that will be required to be obtained upon hire. Applicant must also possess a valid State of Minnesota Class D driver's license.

The 2019 salary range for the Engineering Aide position is $18.95 - $24.01/hour dependent upon qualifications.
