Position Description:
To assist the Lead Heating Plant Operator in the duties & responsibilities for the 24 hour operation of the Heating Plant for generation of steam to provide energy for environmental comfort usage in state, city, federal government and campus facilities located at North Dakota State University.
Work schedule will be rotating shifts and position is subject to call-back 24/7.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • One year of mechanical experience or formal education using varied hand and power tools used in the mechanical trade.
  • CDL with air brake endorsement or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Technical and /or mechanical training
  • One year experience in a heating plant operation
  • Engineer License 2nd Class B
  • Computer knowledge and experience

Physical Demands:
Walking, standing, stooping, lifting of heavy objects up to 100 lbs, reaching, bending, pushing or pulling, carrying up to 100 lbs; working conditions & surrounding which includes working inside/outside, hot/cold temperatures, noise, dust
