Survey Technician/Machine Control

Monona Plumbing & Fire Protection is seeking a self-motivated, self-managed individual for a Survey Technician/Machine Control position!

Job Summary

This position is responsible for performing all construction surveying and layout functions and managing the import and export of field data to support our Site Work, Plumbing, and Fire Protection divisions. This position includes layout for both pipework and sitework and work is performed in both an office and field setting.

This position will build site models for machine control, set-up/build files from AutoCAD/Revit and import into GPS software, perform field surveying activities including layout, use GPS to locate and shoot points, perform construction staking, and prepare as-builts.

Job Requirements

• 2 year technical engineering/surveying degree or equivalent combination of training and related experience
• 1-3 year of survey experience in construction layout; familiarity with construction staking
• Knowledge of Trimble Construction Survey software, instruments, controllers, GPS technology, data collectors, and machine control
• Knowledge of Total Station to include robotics knowledge
• Knowledge of GPS staking
• Knowledge of CAD
