Manage the activities to research, pilot, and facilitate the development of solutions related to specific innovation technology focus areas.

Three positions will be filled in these focus areas: (1) Autonomous Operation, (2) Features On Demand and Mobile Applications, and (3) Remote Control and Related Technologies.

Role & Responsibility

  • Facilitate and research specific technology focus areas for the development and implementation of solutions applicable to compact products or new products and/or services; identify milestone technologies that can be applied to enable potential customer features.
  • Define timelines and deliverables for enabling technologies. Provide cross-functional collaboration and alignment to ensure tasks and deliverables are being completed.
  • Develop and maintain a requirements document that specifies the “road map” of technologies that can enable required functionality.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for 3rd party developers and start-up firms partnered with Bobcat Company by providing technical support and direction as needed and required per agreement definition. Support development of memorandums of understanding or joint development agreements between Bobcat and the 3rd party.
  • Assist Acceleration Team with the development of pilots and “concept demonstrators” to gain internal and external (customer) feedback.
  • Periodically report results and progress to innovation team and related functions. Provide recommendations for select technologies that may fit current technology roadmaps and identified customer needs.

Innovation
  • Support the ideation process to initiate new ideas for future and existing products or services that align with technology roadmaps.
  • Use innovative approaches to solving problems, engaging team, devising courses of action for the development of new techniques or processes, and refashioning existing courses of action where the opportunity for innovation is limited by a large volume of accepted practice.
  • Foster a culture of creativity and support diversity of thought, innovation, and excellence within the department.
  • Sponsor and/or or lead innovation challenges and events.

Employee Engagement and Talent Management
  • Actively monitor projects and make appropriate personnel and resource changes in order to meet the project goals.
  • Inspire, engage, empower employees to create a culture of creativity, innovation and timely development of world class products.
  • Identify key competencies and skills needed to build a diverse team and evaluate and select new employees to achieve assigned goals.
  • Identify and remove roadblocks on projects so employees can effectively execute project plans.
  • Demonstrate how to build relationships across departments to enhance collaboration. Recognize team failures as learning opportunities and coach employees through project hurdles.


Job Requirement

  • Bachelor’s Degree required - Business, IT, Management or Engineering major preferred.
  • Strong capacity for leading change, dealing with ambiguity and providing creative solutions and influencing multi-discipline teams with data, scientific reasoning, and strong coaching skills.
  • Strong and engaging personality, with a “get the job done” mentality
  • Functional knowledge of defined technology focus area that enables solutions on Bobcat products or services.
  • Ability to quickly assess different technologies, potential partners, and how they may or can fit
  • Proven experience leading and developing teams to achieve successful product launches and/or product improvement/optimization with one or more of the company's products or product functions.
  • Ability to work with internal and external departments to remove roadblocks, resolve conflicts and move projects forward quickly.
  • Knowledge in or willingness to work in an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills. Creative and visionary approach to projects with ability to influence innovation across multiple organizations and levels through technical aptitude and understanding of team's strengths.
  • 5-10 years' experience.
  • Travel Required: 20% - 30%.

What skills, education, and experiences does your ideal candidate(s) have?

•Education Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent

•Must be able to follow established methods and procedures and perform work accordingly. Must have the ability to work rapidly and under time pressure for extended periods of time in order to meet build requirements. Must possess the ability to read build sheets and blueprints.
•The ability to communicate with supervisors and fellow workers in both written and verbal forms at a level normally acquired through the completion of a high school diploma or GED is required.
