Employee/Occupational Health RN - Part Time

Lakewood Health System has an opening for a Part-time Employee/Occupational Health RN.

The Employee Health/Occupational Health RN will assist with development, implementation, coordination, interpretation, and evaluation of employee health and occupational health services for internal and external customers. Services include safety programming, policy review and development, health and wellness coordination, and general nursing care.

Responsibilities:

Provides professional nursing care and follow-up of occupational and non-occupational illnesses and injuries within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act

Provide education, support and motivation emphasizing health and safety

Assist employer with OSHA documentation and reportable injury/illness

Assist the employee and employer to develop and implement modified job tasks based on the workability reports

Observe compliance with legal requirements of occupational health in ADA, OSHA, Worker's Comp, FMLA and other state and federal laws

Perform and document pre-placement health history assessment with prospective employee, based on essential job functions

Track employee illnesses/injuries through return to work slips and incident reports. Notify appropriate individuals of notable trends

Identify existing or potential environmental, health and safety hazards. Inform appropriate individuals regarding adaptations or position interventions needed Render professional nursing care and follow-up of occupational and non-occupational illnesses and injuries within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act.

This is a Part-time position working 48-56 hours per pay period with some flexibility and does include working as needed off-site at our contracted occupational health sites.
Qualifications

Registered Nurse licensure/certification from an accredited school of nursing and as required by the Board of Nursing

Two years of previous experience working with workers compensation, OSHA regulations and employee health preferred

Experience in /Employee Health/Occupational Health desirable

Recent experience instructing CPR certification, preferred but not required

Must be flexible with hours to meet customer and department needs
