Information Technology Specialist 2

The primary purpose is to create and maintain responsive applications used by students and employees.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

* Associates Degree in Computer Science or related field experience required
* Strong development skills in Object Oriented Programming languages such as C#(.NET), understanding of structured query language (SQL) for relational databases and experience with HTML/CSS
* Coding, debugging and troubleshooting skills with an understanding of relational databases and data models
* Project management skills sufficient to create clear and attainable project objectives, build project requirements, oversee the cost, time and scope of projects, manage project constraints, and communicate progress and end results.
* Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing with technical and non-technical staff.

Preferred Qualifications

* Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or related field
* Experience developing applications that follow best practices in relation to secure coding and accessibility
* Working knowledge of web servers such as IIS
* Experience with SharePoint
* Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services 
* Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio
* Experience with ImageNow
* Knowledge of the design of the Minnesota State student data information management system
* Experience with SQL Server and/or Oracle databases
* Experience working in an Agile development environment
* Experience with software testing tools and methodologies, such as unit testing, test-driven development, and user acceptance tests.
* Knowledge of technical implementation of Federal, state, agency, and industry accessibility standards and guidelines
* Experience with statutes and policies regarding data privacy and practices
* Experience with web browsers/clients, in particular their various capabilities and shortcomings, to ensure that web applications function in a broad array of client environments
* Experience with XML, Web APIs
