Job Details

The Project Manager is responsible to produce estimates, proposals, and change orders in response to requests from contractors, owners, salespeople, or from any other means identifying sales opportunities.

The Project Manager is responsible for managing the project, including but not limited to ordering materials, scheduling resources, scheduling subcontractors, managing cash flow and coordinating with owners and contractors. The Project Manager is required to maintain and report project schedule, scope, and budget.

Qualifications or Skills Required

  • Interpret blueprints
  • Create bill of materials/take-offs
  • Determine project cost
  • Negotiate with suppliers
  • Create project proposals
  • Collaborate with other project managers or department leadership while planning capacity
  • Maintain capacity plan
  • Create project schedules
  • Order materials / create purchase requests
  • Schedule manpower
  • Schedule subcontractors
  • Schedule rental equipment
  • Schedule other resources required for project completion
  • File excavation locates consistent with MN Department of Public Safety regulation or similar requirements in other jurisdictions.
  • Coordinate with contractor(s) and owner
  • Effectively manage punch lists
  • Manage projects to an expedient completion
  • Provide equipment orientation to owner
  • Create and distribute Operation and Maintenance documentation to contractor/owner
  • Collaborate with Business Development, Accounting, Warehouse, Fabrication, and Operations staff
  • Develop and enforce standards of work and workmanship
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment
  • Create item records and purchase requests
  • Stay current on codes, municipal regulations methods, technology, tools and equipment offerings
  • Represent the Company in community, academic or professional events
  • Adhere to and enforce company policy and procedures

Leadership/Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This position manages the commercial staff.
  • Assist in the development of individual goals.
  • Assist in the development of Installation staff goals
  • Assist Installation staff in their advancement and realization of developmental goals
  • Provide input into employee performance evaluations.
  • Provide input into Ellingsons Apprenticeship Program assessments and evaluation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Blueprint reading
  • Estimating experience
  • Understanding of applicable building codes and trade standards
  • Understanding of commercial construction
  • Understanding of the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects
  • Ability to develop and execute project plans to deliver results
  • Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles including cash flow management
  • Proficient computer skills, specifically: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook and Adobe
  • Experience with SAP or other ERP systems
  • Demonstrated leadership ability
  • Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships
  • Effective negotiation skills
  • Effective presentation skills
  • Experience with Servant Leadership
  • Licensed tradesman
