Sales Position

Overview: Be a part of the sales team to maximize topline revenues for the Sioux Falls Best Western Plus Ramkota Hotel & Conference Center.


Purpose of the Position: To provide expertise, drive and entrepreneurial spirit for our hotel's sales effort. To maximize the revenue performance of the property through the successful implementation and execution of a targeted sales effort.


Position Summary: The candidate will contribute to the profitability of the Hotel by effectively developing and executing the sales process at the Sioux Falls Best Western Plus Ramkota Hotel & Conference Center. The candidate must have the ability to develop and execute both short and long-term sales strategies. In addition, the candidate must possess strong communication skills, both verbal and written, exhibit an urgency to get things done and demonstrate outstanding leadership and drive.


??? Responsibility:

  • Exceed room revenue targets by month, quarter and year and have room revenue market growth that exceeds comp set RevPAR performance
  • Development of the room revenue sales plans by assigned market segments and the development of the hotel's business plan and budgets to support achieving revenue goals.
  • Close on new business to meet the revenue objectives.
  • Follow the sales and operations processes in place to exceed revenue targets.
  • Follow Regency's SALES*REV selling process and report activity and results bi-weekly during scheduled sales meetings.
  • Report to the Director of Sales on sales objectives outlined in the hotel's business plan.
  • Targeting accounts for short and long term selling strategies.
  • Work with Director of Sales and the property Revenue Manager to ensure that revenue management strategies are in place to maximize RevPAR.
  • Work with the Director of Sales on effective marketing strategies that would assist the hotel in exceeding revenue objectives.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor every day.
  • Must have or learn a strong understanding of all electronic distribution channels and big picture revenue management strategies.
  • Become competent with the execution of the hotel's RFP Process.
  • Learn and utilize the sales tools available and keep them consistently updated.
  • Must have a working knowledge of Windows, Word, Excel and Outlook.

Must be able to provide concrete examples of past performance that exceeded plan objectives.
