Job Description: The Nursing Professional Development Practitioner for Surgical Services is an integral member of the team in multiple facets. This position supports the onboarding, orientation, and education for all roles within the surgical services environment including, but not limited to: Surgeons, Registered Nurses, Surgical Technologists, Nursing Assistants, and Health Unit Coordinators. The NPDP role works in conjunction with our Central Sterile Processing Educator and other Educators within Essentia Health. This role, with the assistance of Nursing Leadership, manages, and maintains ongoing skills validations for all aspects of operative care. The Nursing Professional Development Practitioner plays a vital part in regulatory compliance including audits and tracking. This role acts as a liaison and partner to other departments within Essentia Health to assist and educate on the operative practices. Understanding and working knowledge of AORN and ASPAN standards is crucial for this role.
Work Experience: 2 years of Registered Nurse experience
Education Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree within 3 years, Master's degree preferred
Licensure/CertificationQualifications:
Current nursing licensure in state(s) of employment

Shift Rotation: Day Rotation (United States of America)
