Job Summary

The Senior Healthcare Reporting Analyst is responsible for leading mandated regulatory reporting requirements, developing and executing complex data management reports and processes and supports ad hoc data and information delivery for assigned projects. This position performs business and systems analysis, quality assurance activities, coordinates system changes and enhancements, designs and creates reports and leads reporting and analysis tasks on corporate initiatives that have strategic and financial impact on the company. The Senior Healthcare Reporting Analyst will partner with various internal and external customers within Blue Cross Blue Shield of ND (BCBSND) and affiliated companies to provide strategic insight and advanced Management Information Services (MIS) knowledge.

 

Essential Functions
  • Leads reporting and analysis elements on corporate initiatives and projects and meets requirements and project timelines.
  • Functions as the subject matter expert (SME) and integral member of the team by providing analytical support to all divisions of the organization by mining data, conducting analysis and interpreting results related to business needs.
  • Develops systematic reporting processes and procedures to ensure timely delivery of weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually and ad hoc reporting on behalf of the department.
  • Utilizes various data sources, systems and tools to develop complex utilization, membership and financial reports for internal and external customers.
  • Creates specialized and ongoing ad hoc reports and analyses as requested and ensures reporting projects and requests incorporate customer’s specifications and requirements. Provides data information and recommendations to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Researches data integrity and reporting defects to improve the accuracy and efficiency.
  • Conducts thorough and accurate research providing a concise written narrative of analysis with supporting data and test cases. Identifies and recommends a course of action for data integrity issues that affect reporting or claims processing. Follows through to ensure proper action was taken.
  • Informs affected customers of problems and resolutions and ensures compliance with deliverable reporting requirements by performing quality data audits and analysis.
  • Identifies and defines process, reporting and data improvements. Identifies critical areas of the data structure and recommends improvements to existing reports and reporting processes; defines and coordinates reporting systems and processes.
  • Educates, mentors and guides less experienced staff members to ensure report development, project assignments, deadlines and goals are met.

Experience Requirements

Required: Minimum of 5 Years

Preferred: Minimum of 5 Years

Experience Details: Minimum of 5 years of report development, data analysis, data research, IT or related experience is required.

Equivalent combination of education, experience or training determined to be acceptable by Human Resources may be substituted, unless regulated by contract or program standards
