The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS); Sand Ridge Secure Treatment Center (SRSTC) is recruiting to fill an Office Operations Associate position in Mauston, WI.

Sand Ridge Secure Treatment Center opened in 2001 and houses Wisconsin's Sexually Violent Persons Program. The goal of the center is treating and teaching patients with a history of sexual aggression toward the goal of providing a safe return to the community.

State of Wisconsin benefits include at least 3.5 weeks of vacation, 9 paid holidays, ample sick time, a top rated health plan, low-cost insurance options starting at $31/month for single plans and $78/month for family plans after two months of state service, and an exceptional retirement plan.

Work hours are: 7:45 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Position Summary :

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing institution-wide administrative support services and record keeping. All duties must be performed independently with a high degree of precision and require detailed knowledge of an array of legal, contractual, departmental, and institutional regulations and procedures. Duties include working with patient records both paper and electronic to edit, revise and clarify the content, draft confidential documents, create reports and charts, present reports, and assist with maintaining and revising forms.

The employment register established as a result of this recruitment may be used to fill future vacancies as they occur over the next six months or longer.
Qualifications :

Minimally Qualified candidate will have:
  • Ability to type at least 45 words per minute (this will be verified as part of the selection process)
  • Training and/or experience with medical terminology
  • Experience utilizing a variety of computer software programs such as databases, spreadsheets, and word processing programs (e.g., Word, Excel, Access, etc.)
  • Experience working with confidential documents
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills including English usage, grammar, punctuation and style
Well qualified applicants will have:
  • Training and/or experience with HIPAA standards
  • Experience establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external customers
  • Experience performing medical transcription duties
