We are currently seeking an Experienced Integration Architect to join our technology team at Piper Jaffray. Become a key developer and contributor on a team working with PJC's trading platform integration technologies and processes, working closely with the existing team of individuals on the Integration team as well as our vendors and external business partners. Responsible for the design, definition, creation, testing, implementation, and documentation of integration touchpoints.

This role entails the following responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise all activities related to the design, development, implementation, and support of Integration solutions for the Enterprise using supported tools and development.
  • Point-of-contact for internal business and external vendor partners on issues or enhancement requests.
  • Develop and provide technical solutions for issues or enhancement requests in support of business operations.
  • Liaise with other technology specialists and software engineers/developers to assist with quality assurance, code logic, data processing, system design, and disaster recovery/resiliency.
  • Provide technical development expertise to project managers and programmers working on enterprise projects.
  • Ensure that any new integration into company systems meets functional requirements, system compliance, and interface specifications.
  • Review and analyze existing Integrations effectiveness and efficiency, and develop strategies for improving or leveraging these systems.
  • Design, develop, and install enhancements and upgrades to systems and application software.
  • Collaborate with analysts, designers, and system owners in the testing of new or changed integration software programs.
  • Learn, contribute to, and enforce functional policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Develop procedures, guidelines and documentation as needed for the Integration team.
  • Work in close partnership with existing Data Management and Integration to ensure overall cohesion of provided solutions.
  • Integration Architect responsibilities:
  • Work with business requirements analysts to identify and understand source and target systems along with their integration patterns
  • Develop and test integration touchpoints
  • Build solutions which are easy to maintain and enhance
  • Provide visibility and monitoring of messaging and processing
  • Provide production support for both business hours and post-business hours batch processing
  • Integration Architect Key Skills & Deliverables:
  • Understanding of source and target data structures, transport mechanisms, and products
  • Knowledge of Integration design patterns and building solutions for scale and resiliency.
  • Knowledge of 3GL/4GL programming languages
  • Strong problem-solving
  • Working knowledge of ETL across more than one product (including but not limited to IBM DataStage, Informatica, etc).
  • Version control for integration touchpoints
  • Requirements:
  • Four-year college diploma or university degree in computer systems or computer science
  • Certifications in relevant technology(ies) is a plus
  • 4 to 6 years direct experience in ETL development and/or programming design and systems management.
  • Extensive experience with core Integration technologies, including IBM DataStage tool suite.
  • Technically fluent in programming languages, including Java, Unix/Linux scripting
  • Experience in the financial services industry
  • Proven experience in development and implementation of integration software solutions.
  • Good project management skills and/or substantial exposure to project-based work structures, project lifecycle models, etc.
  • Knowledge of solution design and file management techniques as well as a familiarity with Agile development methodologies, including iterative development
  • Working knowledge of network, server, and PC operating systems, including Windows and Linux.
  • Excellent people skills ability to build results-oriented relationships with technical and non-technical business partners; strong partnering skills
  • Strong follow-through skills, keen attention to deadlines, and the ability to drive tasks to completion
  • Strong written and oral communication skills as well as strong listening and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed; strong initiative to problem solve and improve processes
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Ability to work both independently as well as in a team environment with various levels of management.
