Description

Home Care Companions (part of Edgewood Healthcare) is looking for a quality CNA to provide activities of daily living services such as Personal Care (bathing, dressing, grooming) and light Homemaking (meal preparation, washing dishes, dusting, making beds) for clients residing in their homes.

Specific responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
  • Travel to client's homes while building a valued rapport with the clients served.
  • Report all changes in the client's condition.
  • Assist clients with bath functions (i.e., dressing/undressing, bed/bath, tub or shower bath, etc.), hair care functions (i.e., combing, brushing, shampooing, etc.), nail care (i.e., clipping, trimming, and cleaning the finger/toenails), and shaving.
  • Measure and record temperatures, pulse, and respirations.
  • Prepare clients for meals, serve food trays and assist with feeding as necessary, record the client's food/fluid intake and report changes in his/her eating habits. Perform after meal care (i.e., remove trays, clean hands, face, clothing, take to bathroom, brush teeth, clean dentures, etc.).


Minimum Requirements

A successful candidate will possess the following:
  • Completion of an accredited nursing assistant / HHA training program with written skills test and competency evaluation, and formal certificate obtained.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to read, write, and verbally report clinical information to clients, representatives, and caregivers, as well as to other home health staff.
  • Experience working with the elderly strongly preferred.
  • Have dependable transportation and appropriate license to operate vehicle.
