The Business Development Leader aggressively launches Fragrance Delivery growth in household, personal care, and other markets. The incumbent works to lead programs and projects that deliver sustainable competitive advantage and growth. The position will work effectively across technical, business, and service functions building highly effective teams and delivering value to the customer. The candidate will help connect technical innovations with market needs to help drive growth. The role will have active involvement with customers, marketing, sales, finance, EH&S, legal, operations, procurement and logistics.

  • Lead the development of new products, line extensions, and technology platforms.
  • Insure speed to market through improvement in lean product development and execution.
  • Develop and execute an efficient internal and external communication strategy at all levels.
  • Establish program and project objectives, requirements, tasks, schedules, resources and milestones necessary to ensure projects are delivered within the defined scope, time and cost constraints.
  • Lead and integrate project teams to ensure successful completion of scope, schedule, and resource goals of each project.
  • Successfully lead project teams utilizing the Solution Delivery Process, Six Sigma DMAIC and Six Sigma DFSS processes.

  • Build relationships with new customers
  • Support development and execution of a Fragrance strategic plan.
  • Lead assigned portions of the Fragrance Strategy Deployment effort.
  • Lead effective counter measuring efforts when plans and results lag targets.
  • Operate within a matrix structure using influence and collaborative skills to effectively partner with operations, logistics, engineering, purchasing and IT resources in order to meet business goals.
  • Effectively motivate and lead teams, establishing their short-term and long-term focus; use superior people-managing skills to meet/exceed objectives.
  • Lead relationship-building with customers (especially decision makers and top-to-top relationships) and develop new methods for driving in target markets. Develop and leverage trust-building and personal relationships with customers.
  • Ensure development of technology, marketing, and sales plans that are professional, disciplined, and leverage technical superiority, data-based pricing strategies and other methods to gain dominant market share.
  • Provide technical liaison expertise by working closely with either customers or through sales and marketing to translate customer needs into product realities.
  • Leverage VOC/market insights to understand customer needs (met and unmet) and prioritize product planning, development, and commercialization to win customers and grow.
  • Develop initial go-to-market strategies for entry into selected markets, including analyses of channels and the possible use of strategic partnerships which may be viable and lucrative.
  • Serve as lead Encapsys representative and presenter at key customer connections and technical product conferences.
  • Support the development of customer agreements (i.e. confidentiality, development, supply, quality, etc.), pricing, and relationships serving as a key contact and relationship owner.
  • Determine methods of staying abreast of technology developments, new markets, and changes in markets that reduce, enhance or otherwise change current business opportunities and present new business opportunities.
  • Analyze and verify competitive landscape for new trends and key target markets/customers, including identifying and using competitive threat information, barriers to entry, environmental and legal constraints, etc.
  • Create project(s) proposal/plan to determine time frame, budget, procedures for accomplishing, staffing requirements, and any other resources to ensure successful completion of project(s).
  • Create and execute a cost-effective plan for the project(s), develops a timeline and tracking schedule for project(s) following a logical pattern for utilization of resources.
  • Encourage proactive safety approach in both product and process designs.
  • Manage project communications, including meetings, conference calls, weekly reports, and presentations
